Game Grumps is a dual-commentated Let's Play channel created by internet personalities Arin Hanson and Jon Jafari, better known by their internet aliases Egoraptor and JonTron respectively. It is currently hosted by Hanson and Dan Avidan, the vocalist from the comedy band Ninja Sex Party. The channel was created on July 10, 2012, and the first video was uploaded on July 18, 2012. In July of 2013, Jafari left Game Grumps to pursue endeavors on own channel and was subsequently replaced with Avidan.

ConceptEdit

The first video uploaded by Game Grumps was of the SNES game Kirby Super Star. The video has a length of 18:36 and has 1,053,506 views. Ever since then, Game Grumps has consisted of Egoraptor and Jontron (or Danny Sexbang) sitting on a couch together and Let's Playing games of just about any caliber. They usually upload videos twice a day, typically without repeating the same game twice in a row, and each episode is typically 10-15 minutes long, though there has been exceptions. Game Grumps unfortunately has a habit of not finishing Let's Plays they have started, only having completed a few of them. Older Let's Plays are sometimes brought back to compensate. Likely the most famous of Game Grumps' Let's Plays is the Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) (better known as Sonic '06) Let's Play, which they have vowed to complete. (However, it is not known if this will ever happen, as Jon left before they could complete it.)

Occasionally, Game Grumps VS episodes are uploaded, in which Egoraptor and Jontron (or Danny) compete against each other in a game, typically of a racing or fighting genre. At the end of each Game Grumps VS, either "ARIN WINS" or "JON WINS" (or some type of variation) appropriately appears on-screen.

Most of the comedy of Game Grumps comes from when its two hosts' differing opinions, personalities and senses of humor conflict. Egoraptor comes across as mildly serious and competent, with a scatological, punny, and sometimes dark sense of humor, while Jontron seems whimsical and somewhat foolish, (Danny usually just talks about sexual humor or his weed-smoking days) with a sense of humor that relies on random and out-of-nowhere lines, coupled with a contagious laugh. When either of the commentators find nothing noteworthy in the game, they have a conversation between each other, usually sharing humorous stories that have happened recently in their lives, or otherwise arguing.

Game Grumps episodes are edited by a friend known only as Barry. He has only recently appeared on the show, however he and Egoraptor's wife, Suzy, have started a series called Table Flip, in which they and a couple guests take part in games other than video games, such as old card games. For a long time however, he had only communicated through yellow text and animations (usually requested by Arin, such as a hamburger or cats, or in one such case, when Arin and Jon made him put birds up on the screen as they read the back of the box on Dead Space 3) placed on the screen.
