Channel Avatar

Allstarknight's channel avatar, a slightly edited version of Meta Knight from the anime "Kirby: Right Back At Ya"

Allstarknight is a Norwegian Let's Player on YouTube. He joined YouTube in October 2009, and started out uploading gameplay footage without commentary of the game Tales Of Phantasia, and moved on to doing Let's Plays with commentary only a couple of weeks after joining.

He mainly does Let's Plays of RPGs, fighting games, and adventure games.

He goes under the epithet "Your Friendly Neighborhood Gamer", and fittingly, has made some good friends through his YouTube account.

Style Of CommentaryEdit

  • Allstarknight's Let's Plays follow the classic style of Let's Playing, where the player commentates live over the game that he is playing.
  • He will often derail from talking about the game to talking about anything that's going on in his life, his opinions on all things like games and movies, or even stories from his childhood.
  • An episode rarely passes without Allstarknight singing. For the most part, the songs being sung are fitting to what's going on in the game at the moment.
  • Occasionally Allstarknight will write and sing short parodies of songs like the Pokemon theme song and include them in episodes as parts of a montage.
  • If he feels that a quest or a mission is fairly boring or repetetive, he will either cut it out or or speed it up while playing video game music.

2. Metroid: Zero Mission (GBA)

3. Tales of Phantasia (GBA)

CatchphrasesEdit

  • "Welcome back to Let's Play <game>! I am Allstarknight, your friendly neighborhood gamer, and in the last episode we..."
  • "TLOT PWIST"  (A spoonerism of the term "plot twist" which is used in situations where the game's plot or story takes an unexpected turn. "TLOT PWIST" is often followed by a dramatic sound effect and multiple distortions of the game's current screenshot)
  • "X minutes later..."  If there is a big skip in time during one part of an episode, Allstarknight will often add text saying "X minutes later" whilst playing the track "The Bridge of Khazad-Dum" from "The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring".
  • "I had to sell my PS1..."  Used when describing how much money was used on something. Said in a sad tone, as Allstarknights first game console was the PS1.
